CSRT Coaches Bios
Karen McCadam - Program Director
KAREN
McCADAM, a native of Oregon, grew up skiing at Mt. Ashland. After coaching
and teaching skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the past 10 winters, she
now calls Hood River home.
Coaching for the Jackson Hole Ski Club since 1998, Karen was the Head Development Coach for the J4’s and J5’s, and most recently the Head J3 Coach for the ’05 -’06 Season. Karen earned a BS degree from the University of Oregon and is a USSA Regional level coach, has her PSIA level 3 Certification, and took her Canadian Ski Coach level 3 in 2004.
After spending many summers coaching up on Mt. Hood, including running race camps for the Jackson Hole Ski Club for the past 6 years, Karen along with her husband Seth picked up windsurfing and fell in love with the Gorge and everything it had to offer. Email Karen at kcmccadam@gorge.net.
Dan Stelma - Head Mitey Mite Coach
DAN STELMA grew up racing in Sun Valley, Idaho. He raced
on the Sun Valley Ski Team for 18 years, competing in the Junior Olympics,
Nor Ams, Europa Cups, Canadian and US Nationals, arriving at a 28 FIS profile
in 1983. Dan skied on the US Special Development Training Team in 1980. He
excelled in downhill and was ranked 7th in the nation during this time.
After his race career, he became Head Coach for the Hailey Ski Team in Sun Valley and coached such names as Picabo Street. In 1987, he took the opportunity to travel with the Women's World Cup Team to help coach and be a personal ski technician to some of our top women athletes. This is Dan's ninth season with CSRT. Craig Mallon - Mitey Mite Coach

Craig Mallon has been coaching CSRT for as long as anyone can remember. His ski racing background started as one of our very own CSRT mitey mites. Craig raced USSA and highschool until he graduated from HRVHS. He then went on to race very successfully for Oregon State University. Email Craig at mmal@gorge.net.
